Me and My Kiddykats

Month

December 2011

I started the twins on preschool… so much fun. I’m savoring this because as difficult as the rest of life is, doing preschool with them is such a wonderful “break”; it’s really delightful (but unfortunately so short lived!).

Particularly delightful are the cries of, “I’m not done yet! I want to do more!”

Wow… I don’t hear that from the biggers, that’s for sure.

My 13yo stated, quite accurately,

“For us the finishing school is a time of rejoicing. For the little kids it’s a time of sorrow. Boy, does school change as you get older.”

Very true… LOL. :-)

Now, just for the record, there are elements of school that my 13 & 9yo’s enjoy, like history & science in particular. Those programs are more interesting for them, not “workbooky”, & we have some fun projects.

I guess parts of speech & math facts just don’t rank in the “fun” category… go figure.

The Suffering Church → youtu.be

Powerful video.

Christians in many countries around the world are persecuted for their faith; many are children.

My 16 year old cat, Thea, cuddling with her skin sis.

She’s acting wierd today. She won’t go into her favorite little bed. She was sitting on my chair almost all day. Then she went to hide under the twins’ doll cradle. Now she’s sleeping on the little one’s lap.

She’s cuddled on laps before, just not much recently.

At 16, I tend to worry about her easily.

Maybe it’s just me, but it seems like if you’re going to retweet someone on Twitter, retweet the tweet in its original form. If you like it enough to retweet it, why would you have to edit/change it? If you don’t like it in it’s original form, then don’t retweet it.

Obviously, I was just edited & not all that happy about it.

But maybe it’s just me.

“I may sound old-fashioned, but I want to think all women should be treated like I want my wife, daughters, and granddaughters to be treated. I notice today that good manners—like standing up when a woman enters the room, helping a woman with her coat, letting her enter an elevator first, taking her arm to cross the street—are sometimes considered unnecessary or a throwback. These are habits I could never break, nor would I want to. I realize today a lot more women are taking care of themselves than in the past, but no woman is offended by politeness.” —Frank Sinatra (via baristasarah)

I'm a straight man, and I think that the Victoria's Secret Fashion Show is disgusting.

Incredibly refreshing. :)

hisreality:

Since when was it socially acceptable for women to prance around in degrading apparel on television? Has our media accomplished the task of completely demoralizing our minds into thinking that a show like this is “okay”? Reality check: It’s NOT okay.

Gah! It makes me so mad.

Earlier my aspie son told me I am a “nice mommy”…

… now I am making popcorn for everyone… because I am a “nice mommy”.

:-D

Am cold so it’s time for some “choco-coffee” in my lovely owl mug…

… I found the mug on Zazzle & could choose the colors. It’s nice & sturdy.

And the owl? She’s a real snowy owl living on a wildlife preservation in Ontario.

C’mon Eileen - she’s cute, right?! ;-)

Wish there was a healthier way to get my eyes to open in the morning besides caffeine and/or sugar.

The girls are wearing these shirts today; beyond cuteness.

Using online sales and “Gymbucks”, I Gymboreed them pretty well for this season. :)
